ABSTRACT

The use of motivational strategies is importance in the study of music for their unique characteristics: it starts in childhood, is vocational, keeps the students occupied for a long time and has a very specific career which, for musician,  it has serious difficulties in the change of activity in case of failure, sickness or unemployment.

Pretending to know what the music teachers can do to motivate our students in the proper way and see what strategies can develop to enhance some types of motivation that will lead to improve their learning and achieve a particular profession.

We collected information through a questionnaire for students and faculty discussion groups. After we did a process of triangulation of the results and we return to the field of study to validate the research.

Finally we conclude that the devotion to music is the key point in the motivation of students who are not willing to live without music.
