In the investigation field on the transport mode choice, it's widespread the conception that this behaviour is based on the different attitudes with regard to the diverse available transport options. In short, it is supposed that it's based on the attitudes toward the most promising alternative in the election group (Dobson y cols., 1978; Gilbert and Foerster, 1977; Harten, 1974; Recker and Golob, 1976; Reibstein, Lovelock and Dobson, 1980; Verplankern y cols., 1994).
In our investigation, and supported by the Reasoned Action Theory (Ajzen and Fishbein, 1980; Fishbein, 1980), we pretended to determine how are the specific cognitions and motivations that significativament contribute to the intention determinants explanation in the use of car and walking as urban transport modes, in the specific case of Valencia urban area.
